I don't personally use flexible working. However, I know a number of colleagues who do and find it invaluable as it better accommodates their lifestyle.
As teams return to the office, the bank is taking steps to alter the way flexibility works for colleagues. For example, from next year colleagues have the opportunity to flex up to five bank holidays and take them when it suits them. Everyday flexibility also means that if you have personal commitments and need to shuffle your day you can take an hour or two to help you manage your work and life priorities- this can be helpful if you have personal appointments like the dentist etc. Finally, this year a new flexible summer policy was implemented which means colleagues could work from anywhere in the UK for 6 weeks between mid-July & the end of August and this is under review for another year.
These are just some examples of how the Group's policy is set up to support colleagues in their work-life balance. I find it works well. Of course, everyone's situation is different so it's important that everyone discusses their own needs with their manager upon joining the Group.
I hope this helps,
Rich
