Hi Yifei, the bank is very supportive of taking time to learn/upskill, and so that's always encouraged even after the first year. On the DS grad scheme the first 2 months are a bootcamp (so only learning). After that when your working on actual projects in a team, it's assumed that the grads will need some time to get up to speed and learn the necessary skills for the project.

Thank you Jacob. That's really helpful. So what about networking? Would you have some gatherings after work? Or any some networking events regularly?

Hi Yiefie, for my side, due to covid most of the work has been done from home so far. However, we started getting back to the office and having company lunch within the lab and sometimes we also have some gatherings after lunch to get to know your co-workers as well as some seniors in a more informal way. Hope that helps!

Thank you Noe! Glad to hear that. So I would assume that there's still lots of remotely working tasks so far. How do you like working remotely compared to in office?

For my side, now that the office is fully open I try to go around four days a week as it is quite close to where I live. Regarding the preference, I believe it is really different between individuals, I prefer to go to the office, I feel more productive and also able to have informal chats with co-workers but I understand some people prefer to stay at home because of covid and commuting journey.
