Are there opportunities for apprentices to specialise in areas like cloud computing, front-end development etc?
Additional information
Or are they assigned to a specific team/area based on business needs?

Thanks for the question.
Typically you’ll be put into a role suited to your apprenticeship. There are areas that do specialise and there are teams that are more general. If you come into Lloyds, your manager will encourage you to have open conversations. There will also be opportunities to get involved in different projects that are advertised internally.

Thanks, Billy, that's very helpful. On a separate note, what's the support system like for an apprentice ( outside of their line manager and immediate team)?

In my apprenticeship we have an external contact, from the company that runs our apprenticeship. We also have a business development team who are always on hand to answer questions. The fellow apprentices in your cohort will be in different roles and be able to offer different views also.

Thanks, Billy, much appreciated. As a Cyber Security apprentice, are you given opportunities to engage with senior leadership and learn from them? such as a BISOs, CISOs or Head of Risk, etc.

Yes. We have regular speed networking sessions with senior leaders. You can also seek a mentor with Lloyds who will be able to support your career. There’s events on quite regularly as well to network.
