From my experience, the whole year you will be learning and training on the job. I went into the placement not knowing a whole lot and every piece of work I complete, I learn something new. More 'traditional' training will be available via pluralsight and linked in learning (through online courses). I've not heard of IPs going to training workshops/qualification courses yet but if you expressed interest to your team, I'm sure they'd be happy to arrange something.
