Hi Eloho!
I'm a SE grad on my first placement, and so far the roles are different depending on the team you're placed in. There are placements available that will have you working on ML and DS etc and in those I expect there will be some data manipulation - theres a huge range of placement opportunities and projects to get involved with, so if you're looking to work with data I'm sure you can find a plcae that suits you :)

Hi Jenny,
Thanks for getting back to me. Do you get to choose your placements then? Out of curiosity, what is your first placement if you don't mind sharing?

So the first placement I believe the company chooses but they base it on your skills & goals.
I'm currently working in core platforms within the Retail lab - working with Fraud & Disputes. Within that area I've worked on things like travel disputes & goods not received - So I work on the software that people create claims for things like holiday companies going bust & they need to claim their money back or you paid for something and never received it. It's basically the in-between stage of the customer and the card company.
