I was interested to know whether there were mentorship programmes or opportunities to work with senior stakeholders?

Mentorship is encouraged within Lloyds, new graduates will information on how to develop this. There is also great exposure to senior stakeholders!

Great news, thank you. Would we each have a personal mentor we can go to, or would it be more of a group discussion mentorship?

Hi Harry, alongside your direct line manager, you will also be assigned a graduate buddy in the year above who can act as a direct point of contact should you need them.

Hi Harry, there is an internal platform where senior leaders can sign up as mentors and you can browse among them and have them as your mentor. Those tend to be 1-2-1 relationships to help your career development. There are also some dedicated trainings organised throughout your scheme, so I think those would be more akin to group discussions / learning. You'll also have a large network of individuals in different roles in the form of your fellow graduates and that's also really helpful to understand what opportunities are available within the business.

Hi Harry, we also offer a Hr system which has a tool to help match you to a mentor :) where you can match their skills to what area you want to develop and grow.

Many thanks Krisztian, Sophia, Kara and Abigail! Having a mentor sounds hugely beneficial, it definitely sounds like a great opportunity to have a senior stakeholder that you are able to meet 1-2-1. I had one more question as to the work that grads are given. Is the graduate work excel and powerpoint centric or are you able to have a large impact on client conversations and meetings? I understand there is excel and presentations needed for every new client but I wanted to know how much of an impact graduates are able to have? Thank you

Hi Harry, thanks for the follow up :) it will depend on the placement as to exactly what your day-to-day work will look like. I definitely feel like a "proper" member of the team though and have the opportunity to get involved with (and lead) some really impactful projects. There is Excel and PowerPoint work to analyse data and build a business case, but there is also a lot of stakeholder engagement and networking to understand the requirements and develop solutions alongside various experts.
