Many of us come from non finance background so do not be put off by this! Really highlight the transferable skills you have which will be useful in your applications and interviews. Research into the current financial environment and key issues will be important to have knowledge of but this can be gained outside of official studies

Hi Amber! I didn't come from a finance/economics background (I studied Modern Languages at university), but found the application process very intuitive and not as technical as you may think. Lloyds actively seeks candidates from a variety of backgrounds because it values different perspectives and experiences. I would concentrate on thinking about how your experiences (from university societies/work experience/internships) match the specification of the graduate scheme you go for, a
nd learn as much as you can about Lloyds' values and the company's work (e.g. projects that have been highly publicised/partnerships with charities/public commitments). Hope that helps!

Thanks for your question Amber. You don't need a financial background to join as Kara says. During the recruitment process we measure your strengths so think about what you enjoy doing and what you are good at. Also, think about why you have chosen Lloyds and the particular programme

Hi, I studied International Relations and History and have found that the most important thing in the application process is getting across why you applied to Lloyds/ what personally attracted you and also why this scheme particularly. You’re not expected to have technical financial knowledge as you build this in the role but always a good idea to develop your commercial knowledge and keep up to date with what’s happening in the financial world. Personally I also had a keen interest in the world of current and emerging technologies which I was able to communicate in the application process. Good luck!
