Additional information

I currently am in my final year of my undergrad studying geography. Firstly can you help suggest which specialities at lloyds might suit me? Secondly I thought CB might match me but I want to learn more about the role even though I was not able to secure the grad scheme role.

Hi Safiyah, thanks for your question. Sorry to hear you were unable to secure a grad role. Most grad schemes, unless otherwise specified, are open to people from all backgrounds so with a geography degree you can apply for wherever aligns with your strengths and personal interests! As to the role itself, the placements are very varied across the bank. For example, I’m in Packaged Bank Accounts and my day-to-day is very varied where I could be doing presentations, stakeholder management, data analysis, forecasting etc…

Packaged Bank Accounts - sits within Personal Current Accounts. You can type it into Google and you can read more about it. In simple terms, its an account for which customers pay a fee and receive insurance benefits. I was allocated to this area of the business as my first placement as emerging talent aligned me with this role.In terms of Consumer Banking, I found that this scheme aligned with my strengths and interests. Particularly in terms of a customer-focused approach.

What sort of interests did it align with? And how have you found the company and team culture?

In terms of company culture, the environment is really social and friendly! Lloyds and its people really do take a people-first approach to everything which ensures that our work is fulfilling and our workplace environment is flexible and social! The culture is also really inclusive and values diversity - theres so many networks and events for different groups. My team personally has a good culture - my managers prioritise my development and are always there to offer me support.
