Hello, and thank you very much for your question.
If you are currently working in Education and thinking about a career change, a helpful first step is to reflect on your current qualifications, experience, and what kind of working/learning style suits you best. From there, it’s worth exploring the different routes available, not just graduate schemes, but also apprenticeships and permanent roles in LBG - https://www.lloydsbankinggroup.com/careers.html.
There are several entry points into LBG. The graduate schemes are usually very flexible and open to people from a wide range of backgrounds, including Education. I know a number of people who previously worked in Education and went on to join the HR Graduate Scheme or the Consumer Lending and Consumer Relationships Graduate Scheme.
I personally went to university and then worked for a couple of years across different sectors including education before deciding that a graduate scheme was the right route for me. Others choose apprenticeships because they suit their learning style better, and some people move straight into permanent roles where their existing experience is a strong fit.
There isn’t a single right path. What matters most is understanding your strengths, what motivates you, and how you want to develop. Experience from Education brings a lot of highly transferable skills such as communication, organisation, stakeholder engagement, adaptability, and problem solving, all of which are valued across graduate schemes, apprenticeships, and permanent roles.
I’d suggest having a look at the different options available, seeing which routes and roles feel most aligned to your interests and experience, and then shaping your application around your skills, motivation, and willingness to learn rather than your sector background.
