Good evening! Not sure whether you mean my role specifically or commercial banking (CB) as a graduate in general so I'll answer both:
My role is an analyst in the corporate and institutional debt team (big companies basically) and my daily work involves working on debt deals for these companies (usually about 4-6 active each week). That will include reviewing annual reports, financial accounts and management information in order to write credit papers and build financial models to see whether or not we should lend to said company.
A graduate on the CB scheme will do four 6month rotations within CB totalling 2 years. 1 in coverage (relationship management) 1 in product (like the one I'm doing right now) 1 in Risk and then you can choose to do either coverage or product as your last one. I'm only on my first rotation but am loving it so far, would highly recommend.
Hope this helps but happy to answer any further questions if you have any.

Thank you for your reply, that sounds really interesting. Do you offer degree apprenticeships in this role?

No problem, it is really interesting! There have been apprentices in the team I'm in before, but I actually don't know for sure atm whether we do, so I will ask tomorrow and get back to you.

Okay so, I've had an initial look around, but I don't think our team (or any team in commercial banking) has a specific apprenticeship study placement alongside a degree (as in you can't apply for a placement within the team I'm in directly as an undergraduate from the LBG website, for example).
However, we did have summer placements (not sure if these are still running or which business areas these were in or if you will be able to apply when we get closer to next summer), we currently have some Industrial (year long) Placements here - https://www.lloydsbankinggrouptalent.com/undergraduates/industrial-placements/ and some apprenticeship places that you can find here - https://www.lloydsbankinggrouptalent.com/apprentices/
Sorry this doesn't fully answer the question, but if I hear about anything that is more specifically to do with what you're asking about I will come back here and let you know immediately - and on this, if anyone reads this and can update with better info, please do!
