Hi all, I hope this message finds you well. I have a question regarding the graduate software engineer role at LBG, what day to day activities, culture and learning potential could be gained through the programme?

Would there be like a training platform to understand and learn more outside the scope of the graduate programme?

Hi Chang, I am an HR Graduate but happy to answer your second question as I am currently based in the learning team. There are plenty of internal learning platforms that we use and the biggest one is Percipio by Skillsoft which contains many courses on different topics that will help you learn more outside the scope of your graduate scheme. We also have our tech academy content which includes many different technology aspect-related learning. During your graduate scheme, there will definitely be an option for personal development outside the scope of the chosen programme - be it coding, Microsoft Office, personal skills etc. Let me know if there is anything else you would like to know that I could answer!

That's nice to hear, would there be like staff hosted organisation collaboration like Toastmasters for LBG to practice presentation skills in a group setting?

Or something similar in a group setting training for softskill?

Yes, Lloyds Banking Group encourages staff development, including presentation skills which is actually a part of Personal Excellence training. While specific programs like Toastmasters may not be currently used, there are opportunities for collaborative learning. The format of the training will differ based on your location and the time but generally, there are training camps that are delivered both face-to-face and virtually. You can also include that in your personal development plan that you will be able to agree with your line manager.
