Additional information

Hi! I have applied for the commercial banking grad scheme and would like to know if the role is based full-time in London or whether it also involves working from home and has this changed prior to COVID?

Hi Alicia, I am currently on my first rotation - in Manchester. I think that grads tend to do one regional placement on the CB scheme then the rest of the scheme in London. You dont get a choice with the first rotation as it is done on business need but after your first placement there is a preferencing system for teams you would like to work in.

The work pattern varies from team to team. Certain teams will prefer home working and then maybe visit the office once or twice a week whereas other teams will be in the office on most days. However it must be said that the bank is flexible for example if you needed to work from home for a few days I would say that most managers are very understanding of this etc. but overall it varies from team to team

Perfect, thank you for your answer! For the first rotation do you get placed where the business needs you and then after you can choose the role you are most interested in?

Hi Ritvik! Thanks for your answer here. In terms of the regional placement, while you mention business need will be the driving factor, would the firm consider aspects such as home city. E.g. If somebody was from Manchester and wanted to rotate there, would this preference be considered (assuming there was need in that specific city)

Correct Alicia! I do think that HR try and do the best job possible here - I am from manchester and they put my first rotation in manchester to make life a bit easier so I do think they look out for you

Perfect thank you! One last question, what was your degree discipline please? Do LBG look for specific degree disciplines to base in different roles?

I studied BSc Econ and Maths but they definitely don't care about degree - any discipline is welcomed. I know another graduate who studied french literature at university on the CB scheme.
