In Data Science, what is the split like between data visualisation, data analysis, and machine learning/algorithms?

Hi Luca! The graduate scheme is split between 3 placements. The first two are Data Engineer and Model Developer (i.e. Data Scientist) and for the final placement you get to choose one of three roles (Data Science Leadership, Data Wrangling & Visualisation, Machine Learning Engineer). For each placement you will predominantly do what the role specifies. For example, you wouldn't expect to do Data Visualisation in you Data Engineer placement :)

After the placements, do you then get to choose which area you'd like to stay in?

You can apply to roll-off in any role you wish but it depends on availability!

Does your prior data science experience dictate which area you choose? Or, are you free to choose whichever sounds most interesting at the time?

During the graduate scheme you only get to choose what the final placement will be and although it's not guaranteed you are very likely to be placed where you chose. For rolling off you need to interview for the role so I guess it depends on the interviewer but you should have gained enough experience during your placements :)

It's more of a Project Manager role for a Data Science project. So you're not expected to write any code but rather discuss requirements with the business and then provide them to your team for example
