SWE: What does a typical day as a Software Engineer Intern consist of at Lloyds?

I'm currently doing the software engineering placement. I personally learn something new everyday, whether that's a process or coding skill. It's difficult to say what a typical activity would be as it is very dependent on the role and department. I personally work in a websites team so my day to day is improving or fixing parts of websites. We have a team meeting every morning where we can voice any problems and ask for support.

Yeah that's what I meant , does it consist of a meeting in the morning, then coding, etc

Most teams in my department have daily meetings but it depends on the team for the time. I can tell you what typically happens in my day or week if that would be helpful?

My team has a 15 minute meeting everyday and there a longer meetings to focus on planning. In the meetings you can ask for support if you're unsure what to do or just give a general update

Oh ok, is that to discuss things like current progress with the website and what needs doing that day?

I have a mentor with in my team who calls me often to check my work and guide my progress

I usually know in advance what I'm working on

So tomorrow we will have a meeting to plan what our team is doing for the next two weeks

Oh ok I see, so when your first starting out It is mostly training at first and then moving onto the real world projects or is it a case of learn on the job?
