Hi Farzan! In some teams research is not only encouraged but an active part of your work. For example in my currently placement we have been given a topic to research and have weekly research catch ups as well as monthly meetings to give updates on our progress. For other teams research is not as integral to their work but as a graduate you are allowed to take one day of the week to focus on your development irrespective of your project and placement so you can spend that time during research if you wish :)

Hi Christos, thanks for your reply, that’s good to know. How much time do you have for a typical research project from start to end? Also, once completed are there any opportunities to publish?

The time you have available is generally 1 day a week but there could be flexibility I guess. It depends on your team and the project work you have to complete. I cannot give a definitive answer to your second question as that depends on many factors but if you make a good case for it then I'm sure it will be considered
