Professionally - You get experience in so many technologies, technologies you've never worked with at lets say uni. For example as I work in DevOps and because of the kind of work we do I worked a lot with container platforms like Docker, Kubernetes etc and deployment frameworks like UCD, Ansible which you just dont get to experience a lot at Uni. And working in a big bank you also know that other banks also use these sort of technologies so you end up developing quite a few transferrable skills.
Personally - In my case my communications skills improved a lot as with whatever work you are doing you have to keep ppl in the loop. Some times you have to chase ppl to get work done. So good communication skills come very handy with these sort of situations
