Sarah L.
My onboarding experience was quite comprehensive and well-organized. Before our first day, we had a group chat with the onboarding leads of the grad committee, which helped us get acquainted and plan for the onboarding day in the summer. Although I couldn't attend the summer event prepared by the grad committee (which I have been told was very useful), I had a call with my future line manager to discuss the team and introduce ourselves. This conversation made my first day a lot less nerve-wracking.
Additionally, I was added to my team's WhatsApp chat, which helped me feel connected right from the start. We also received detailed emails from the future talent team before the first day, including a timetable and what to expect, which was very helpful.
On the first day, we had several talks by the grad team and senior members of the Risk division, and we got to meet our cohort. The second day was focused on integrating us into our respective teams. During the first few weeks, we had numerous calls to explain how the Microsoft platforms used by LBG work, as well as information about company benefits, pay, and other essential details.
Overall, the onboarding process was thorough and made me feel well-prepared and supported as I started my new role.

Graduate Data Science
I would like to add a few points to the excellent response provided by Sara from the perspective of the Data Science Scheme as each programme conducts onboarding differently to ensure the best adaptation to the programme.
The pre-onboarding period, which precedes your first day, is quite similar to what Sara described. There will be an active communication channel between the programme coordinators and yourself, ensuring you are kept informed of all necessary information and the initial schedule. Additionally, you will be assigned a buddy, a current graduate, who will guide you closely during your first few months, addressing any questions you may have.
Your start will be marked by a full week of presentatios, activities, and networking. During this period, you will be introduced to the structure and vision of Lloyds, as well as the Data Science Graduate Scheme. There will also be sessions dedicated to setting up your equipment, along with opportunities to socialise and get to know your colleagues. From the second week, an eight-week bootcamp will commence, covering numerous topics in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning, as well as Cloud and DevOps. Additionally, there will be various presentations from different business areas across the entire bank, exposing you to different projects and teams. Finally, once the bootcamp is completed, you will begin your journey with your first team. At this stage, each team will have a unique onboarding structure.
Overall, the onboarding presents a holistic and comprehensive structure, preparing you very well for the start of your journey at Lloyds.
