Hi Sophie, hope you are well. The work life balance varies depending on where you are in the banking group and given how rotational the scheme is, you have an element of freedom when it comes to finding what team environments/operational workstyles suit you. Having said that, I would add that as a grad you would be given all of the support you need to make sure that your work life balance remains sustainable and efficient from a learning perspective. Hope that helps!

From what you've said I know there are no set working hours. However. I am a little worried about very long working hours when choosing a career in banking. What would you say are 'average' working hours? I think this is a really interesting career and want to make sure I know all the details. Thank you.

Hi Sophie, the working hours will be different depending on which team you are in, so there are no set working hours that are the same for everyone. We strive ourselves on achieving a good work life balance, and I can safely say that long working hours in a bank is a myth.
