Additional information

As a graduate or just generally in a more junior role, are there potential opportunities to take on more responsibility i.e. say leading a presentation or task at a higher level? I was just interested in what chances graduates get to develop some key skills to succeed in the industry!

Absolutely - there are lots of opportunities. You can speak directly with your line manager if this is something you are keen to do and they will find appropriate projects on which you can take greater responsibility!

Hi Archie, good question. You absolutely have opportunities to get involved with taking on more responsibility. The great thing about the grad scheme is that you aren't really treated as an analyst, if there is a certain skill or project that you are interested in then you can ask your line manager to get involved. The graduate scheme is really focused on development so during your placement your line manager will try to stretch you as much as you, and that involves doing associate or more challenging work.

Product Manager (Consumer Banking Graduate Scheme)

A big part of being in Lloyds is being proactive and as an intern, grad or apprentice you'll be able to shape your experiences. There are many "side of desk" opptunities you can get involved with and most managers will look at ensuring you have an overview if not just your direct team but also the wider team.

Thank you all, that's great to hear! Extending that further, not just in terms of developing skills through challenging work and experience, but is there available training for perhaps other skills e.g. python, excel,...etc?

Depending on the role you apply for, there might be some linked training. So my scheme comes with the offer of CIMA but other scheme will offer different learning opportunities. As grads, we also have learning delivered by Emerging Talent and the organisation has different learning platforms where you can improve skills like Excel or Business presentations skills etc
