What motivates you about your role?

As a Sustainable Consumer Banking Graduate, I have found motivation in several key areas. The autonomy I have has allowed me to bring a unique perspective to the three roles I have experienced so far. It has also enabled me to find ways to approach tasks that work for me, keeping me engaged and driven. Even when I have been given tasks with set deliverables and objectives, I was allowed to explore how I approached them and given enough support and assistance to ensure I succeeded.

I have also been able to collaborate with very knowledgeable and friendly people and partake in projects I found interesting. Being a very curious person who likes to learn, the continuous opportunities for learning and development have been truly motivating. I have been given challenges that push me to expand my skills and knowledge. I also have the freedom to pursue topics I'm interested in, even if they don't align with my role, and shadow teams outside of my business area.

I deeply align with Lloyds' values and the focus on being people-first. This alignment has not only given me a sense of belonging but also reinforces my commitment to the organisation. I would find it hard to work somewhere I didn't believe in. The sense of purpose I get from the tasks I complete is a strong motivator. Knowing that my contributions will have an impact gives me a sense of fulfilment and drives me to do my best.

The fact that there's so much going on within the organisation motivates me to explore what else I can do. The opportunity to engage in side-of-desk activities also keeps my role interesting and dynamic, providing a refreshing balance to my regular responsibilities. I was an events representative and feedback manager for our Graduate Working Party until last November and have continued to volunteer with our youth and school volunteering team.
